Because our team and families use these products, we take extra care to ensure they meet the highest safety standards—including compliance with California’s Proposition 65.
Understanding Proposition 65
Proposition 65, formally known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a California law designed to protect consumers by requiring businesses to notify them if a product contains chemicals that the State of California has identified as potentially causing cancer, birth defects, or reproductive harm.
These chemicals are found in everyday items—including foods, coffee, and supplements—and can be naturally occurring or introduced through environmental exposure.
Our Compliance & Safety Measures
To ensure compliance with Prop 65 and maintain the highest product safety standards, we:
- Routinely test our products for Prop 65-listed substances.
- Hold suppliers to strict safety standards that exceed regulatory requirements.
- Monitor new research and regulatory updates to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Provide clear labeling and transparency so you can make informed choices.
Some of our products may contain trace amounts of naturally occurring elements—such as minerals found in soil—but always within legally safe exposure limits.
Product Safety Information
A Proposition 65 warning does not mean a product is unsafe. California’s Prop 65 standards are among the strictest in the world. Many substances listed under Prop 65 naturally occur in foods and supplements in trace amounts.
For example:
- Heavy metals like lead and cadmiumare naturally found in soil and can appear in plant-based ingredients.
- Common foods such as spinach, nuts, and chocolate often contain Prop 65-listed substances but remain safe to consume.
The warning simply ensures consumers are informed if levels exceed the ultra-conservative limits set by California, which are often much lower than federal or international safety standards.
Our Promise
At MTTR, your health comes first. We go beyond basic compliance by sourcing high-quality ingredients, rigorously testing our products, and providing full transparency so you can trust what you’re putting into your body.
